Gordon Food Service’s distribution centre operates around the clock and uses the latest in warehouse management technology, including computer controlled temperature and humidity controls. Due to an expanding market share, Gordon Food Service required an addition to their existing facility. Maple Reinders was awarded the contract to design and build an addition to GFS’s existing facility. The addition is 41’ clear height and includes a 30,175 sf ambient area, 13,625 sf cooler, 12,850 sf freezer and a 900 sf fish preparation area, as well as a compactor and a loading dock area. The cooler, freezer, and dry storage areas were constructed as independent structures in accordance with the design of the existing structure.
