Maple Reinders was engaged to undertake the Construction Management of the new Voortman office tower in Burlington, Ontario. This six storey, 74,000 sf office building includes two traction elevators, a two storey lobby, and a full basement with a racking system for archive storage. The entire building is on a heat pump system, with 13 zones per floor. Each zone has independent temperature control. This system allows for both heating and cooling to be provided at the same time, which is particularly beneficial in spring and fall with the large amount of glass on the south and north sides of the building. Maple Reinders’ scope of work incorporated the shell and common areas, with interior fit-ups negotiated as a separate contract.
