FANUC Robotics has been a top robotics manufacturer in North America since 1984. The firm manufactures robots, develops software and performs end-of-arm tooling for various applications in the automotive, aerospace, electrical, fabrication, food processing and packaging industries. The company experienced a great deal of growth in past years. To accommodate this growth, Maple Reinders undertook the design and construction of a new building for FANUC that incorporates a 16,000 sf office and 34,000 sf manufacturing plant. Over two-thirds of the facility is dedicated to systems assembly, integration, and customer demonstrations. Located on a high profile lot on a major highway, the architect developed an aesthetically pleasing design for the new building. The front entrance is a two-storey high “rotunda” style atrium. Offices flank the atrium on either side and the plant is situated at the rear of the structure.
