Ropak is a leading North American manufacturer of plastic packaging products, offering a wide range of rigid plastic containers for consumer and industrial applications. In response to an expansion of Canadian operations, Ropak selected Maple Reinders to design and build their new facility in Oakville. The new injection molding facility is located on a 13 acre site and includes a 120,000 sf warehouse, 30,420 sf plant, and 7,024 sf office, and a 14,304 sf mezzanine. The office component includes administrative offices, open concept workstations, a conference room, lunchroom, training room, computer centre and mens’ and womens’ locker rooms. The plant functions include injection molding, grinding, printing, resin handling, automation equipment and conveying. The plant also includes a bermed drop test area in the Quality Assurance lab and an overhead crane. The warehouse contains racking and bins for storage of finished product. Maple Reinders’ scope of work also included installation of a rail spur to the plant area for shipment of plastic pellets.
