Work on this project involved construction of a new distribution centre including a 510,000 SF warehouse and a 25,000 SF two-storey office space.
The project features the client’s installation of a three-storey bin module racking system and general racking system for bulk storage, aerosols and flammable materials. A conveyor system was installed throughout the warehouse and integrated within the bin module structure. Maple Reinders was retained to provide safety supervision for the owner’s trades who were installing the bin module, conveyors and bulk storage racking as these systems require a high level of integration with each other and with the rest of the building services.
The new Acklands Grainger distribution centre is LEED® Certified and contains many energy efficient measures such as high insulation walls and roof, high performance glazing, efficient light fixtures with extensive use of occupancy sensors, high efficiency Carrier HC series rooftop units and BAS system controls.
