General COVID-19 FAQ’s

What is Maple Reinders’ policy on Coronavirus?

We have prepared a policy a week ago and was distributed via email. Given the nature of the ever-changing epidemic, the policy is being reviewed daily. All updates will be posted here. Maple has a daily call with all the Senior Management to try and stay ahead of this epidemic and to digest the latest updates from the Government of Canada. We also have a Pandemic Team that also meets daily to address concerns. Each Department and Regional Manager will be having daily calls with staff to update everyone and provide guidance through this challenging time.

What is Maple Reinders’ policy on travel?

Maple Reinders has banned any non-essential business air travel and banned any business travel outside the Country for the foreseeable future. Any plans to travel should be discussed with your manager prior to making any arrangements. We are continuing to utilize motor vehicle travel and hotels for those that are required to travel to sites or for meetings.

When do I self isolate?

Maple is following the Government of Canada suggestions. Please see the attached self monitoring procedure for reference. We ask that you self-isolate in the following situations:

• If you have symptoms

• If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

• If you have been in contact with someone who has recently travelled internationally or under isolation.

If you have any symptoms or have travelled outside the Country, please inform your manager immediately. If you are able to work from home, these arrangements can be made with your manager. If your position in the company does not allow you to work from home, please contact your manager/HR for the next steps.

How can I ask further questions?

We have set up a COVID-19 email address: [email protected] for all staff to pose questions. Please also have discussions with your manager so concerns can be addressed in the daily calls with the COVID team.

Be mindful not to assume someone has COVID-19 if they are displaying symptoms. Be mindful of your reaction to co-workers, family members other members of the public if they cough or sneeze, or mention that they just returned from traveling abroad. It is spring and some people may be experiencing seasonal allergies.
