Overview:

New Secondary School - Three Phases

The new King’s Christian Collegiate is ideally situated on a beautiful 10-acre property at the convergence of three major thoroughfares. Phase I for King’s Christian Collegiate consists of a 40,000 sf secondary school designed for an initial student population of 300. The building incorporates both a two-storey “academic” wing, and a one-storey (two-storey height) “athletic/community” wing. Siteworks included a stormwater management pond. The “academic” wing contains all the classrooms and general administrative facilities spread out on two floors . They are accessed by stairs at each end of the building and by an elevator centrally located for complete barrier-free accessibility. One of the special features of the school is its commitment to utilizing technology in its teaching program. SmartBoards were installed in each classroom to make full use of computer and internet technology. The “athletic/community” wing contains the library and gymnasium, which also serves as the main assembly area for school productions and community events. Maple Reinders also completed the Phase II addition which provided 43,000 sf of additional space; including additional classrooms, science laboratories, and an auditorium/ drama room addition to the gymnasium. Phase III, a music room addition, also came under our purview.
