The Calgary Lofts Project converted the 11-storey Optima Place, originally built in 1981, from an office building into 56 residential suites under the City of Calgary’s incentive program. Located at the corner of 4th Avenue SW and 7th Street SW, the 55,000-square-foot building underwent extensive upgrades, including new roofing, glazing, mechanical and electrical systems, flooring, and interior finishes.
Demolition and abatement was completed by others, with Maple Reinders responsible for the residential conversion. We also coordinated elevator upgrades and collaborated with the owner’s consultant team to provide constructability support and ensure project budget alignment.
The owner provided a nearby laydown area, contractor parking, and appliances, while Maple Reinders handled appliance installation, hookups, and site coordination.
