Metro Canada Logistics is one of the leading third-party providers of warehousing, transportation and related logistics management services in Canada.
Maple Reinders was awarded the contract to design and build a new 649,000 SF rail-served logistics mega-centre, which serves as the hub for transport of Canadian forestry products throughout Canada and the U.S.
Incorporating the latest in design and technological advancements, the mega-centre is located adjacent to CN’s MacMillan rail yards in Vaughan, Ontario. The facility includes an interior rail spur for loading products.
The centre allows for the combining of rail transportation from mill sites to the new facility, with short-haul trucking to the eventual receiver or continued long-haul rail service to U.S. markets.
