Maple Reinders was proud to work with Trouw Nutrition Canada on two key projects to develop a state-of-the-art feed mill facility in Chilliwack, BC, replacing an aging facility on the same site.
Phase 1 of the project included site servicing, infiltration galleries and other civil-related services as part of an enabling package to support the new mill facility. Phase 2 included the design and construction of the new mill facility which features a new truck, rail and container receiving area, tank farm storage bins for raw materials, milling (grinding and cracking) process equipment, dosing systems, one mixer, two pelleting lines with the ability for fat coating of products, bagging line, product loadout and a warehouse. The new plant incorporates 1,100 tonnes of structural steel and 5,000 square metres of concrete into the new facility.
Located near downtown Chilliwack, the feed mill is perfectly positioned regionally for its agriculture-oriented clientele, since 95 percent of the feed volume produced at the mill is consumed within a 50 km radius.
The new production facility enhances efficiency and ensures a consistent flow of feed, to meet the high demands of customers. Considered a global leader in innovative feed specialties, premixes, feed additives and nutritional services for the animal feed industry, Trouw is dedicated to ensuring local producers receive the highest quality of animal nutrition and expertise in the market.
The Halifax Organics project involves the design, construction, and long-term operation of a state-of-the-art organics management facility.
Maple Reinders undertook the Construction Management for this 18,000 s.f. four-storey commercial office building in Vancouver, B.C. On a constrained site in the downtown core.
