Lineage Cold Storage Facility – Vaughn

Maple Reinders delivered the fourth and final phase of the Lineage Vaughan Freezer Expansion in Vaughan, Ontario. Completed within an active, ultra-low-temperature logistics facility, the project added approximately 58,000 square feet of new space to support Lineage’s growing temperature-controlled distribution operations.

The expansion included a 51,400 square foot high-performance freezer warehouse, a 6,500-square-foot cold dock and nine new loading positions. Together, these additions provided capacity for more than 11,000 new pallet positions.

Delivered through a Design-Build Construction Management GMP contract, the project required careful integration of new freezer systems with infrastructure more than 20 years old. Maple used value engineering, procurement strategies and technical design refinements to improve efficiency while maintaining the client’s ongoing operations.

Sustainability was also incorporated throughout the project. Measures included bird-friendly glazing, a cool roof, native and pollinator plantings, improved pedestrian connections and stormwater management features. The project achieved a Silver-level score under the City of Vaughan’s Sustainability Metrics Program and reflects a collaborative approach to delivering complex cold storage infrastructure while maintaining safety, quality and operational continuity.
