Alcon Laboratories is a global leader in the ophthalmic marketplace, manufacturing and distributing ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, surgical products, instrumentation and contact lens care products.
Alcon wanted to develop a new site that would accommodate all current operations and also allow for future growth. Maple Reinders worked with Alcon to select a new site and interacted with the owner to develop the site.
Alcon’s new office and warehouse facility was constructed on a Design-Build basis. The facility is a total area of 89,000 SF and includes a 34,000 SF two-storey office; a 5,100 SF training facility; an 8,000 SF staff amenities area and a 42,000 SF warehouse distribution area.
Maple Reinders was awarded the contract to demolish existing concrete foundations on site, and to subsequently design and build a new terminal that is approximately 170,000 SF on a 16-acre site and incorporates a distribution warehouse with an adjoining office.
Maple Reinders was contracted Design and Build a 36,563 SF building, consisting of two floors with individual units ranging from 900 SF to 10,000 SF. The facility houses Ontario’s first Family Healthcare practice as well as other healthcare practitioners and general business offices.

Maple Reinders undertook the Phase 2 and 3 extensions to their existing facility in Calgary. Which included construction of the 134,000 SF freezer/cold storage warehouse utilized reinforced concrete strip footings and pads, structural steel, insulated metal panels, SBS roofing.

Maple Reinders was awarded the Design-Build contract for Bluebird's five-storey self-storage facility located in Mississauga, ON. The new facility includes approximately 140,000 SF of space comprised of storage units and a small office and retail area.
