Christ Church in Calgary is a thriving community of Anglican Christians. Requiring expansion of the physical facilities to accommodate their ministry programs, the church contracted with Maple Reinders to provide Construction Management services.
Utilizing resources from both Head Office and Maple Reinders’ Calgary office, the project was performed in three phases.
Phase 1 entailed a 5,200 SF addition to the existing church structure consisting of a “Crump Room” (gathering hall), loggia (entrance hallway), elevator, feature staircase, mechanical room and youth room.
Phase 2 required efficient logistics to carry out renovations in the occupied facility. The Phase 2 area, totaling approximately 12,600 SF, included renovations of the administration wing, offices, sacristy, washroom, kitchens, and classrooms.
Finally, the 3,500 SF Phase 3 renovation included alterations of the classrooms and choir room, as well as asbestos abatement.
Maple Reinders completed the Design-Build contract for the second phase of The Meeting House, which involved expanding the theatre seating to add another 600 seats, reworking the existing Sunday school rooms and administration offices, and renovating the remaining warehouse space.
