One of several projects that Maple Reinders has been able to design and build for SmartStop Self Storage, this project entailed the conversion of a one-storey existing warehouse to two-storeys of self-storage totaling approximately 72,000 SF of self-storage, including an elevator lobby.
The conversion also consisted of two-storeys of rentable office spaces along the front of the property. A 500 SF retail addition was constructed on the corner of the existing building as an office space for SmartStop employees, as well as for clients to access rented locker units and office spaces.
To limit energy usage when the building is vacant, motion sensor lighting was used throughout the facility. The facility is also equipped with LED lighting within all the office spaces, corridors and retail addition. All exterior lighting is LED as well.
Maple Reinders has since been awarded Phase 2 of the project, consisting of a 40,000 SF, two-storey addition, constructed with insulated metal panels with glazing and architectural features on the north elevation.
Maple Reinders was selected for the redevelopment of a life-lease facility in Kincardine, Ontario. The project consisted of a four-storey, 31-unit, high end residential complex with a mixture of one and two-bedroom suites ranging in size from 900 SF to 1100 SF.
Maple Reinders was awarded the Design-Build contract for Bluebird’s new six-storey self-storage facility located in Toronto, ON. The new facility includes approximately 168,000 SF of floor area which comprises mainly storage lockers and a small retail office area.
Maple Reinders was awarded the Design-Build contract which included the conversion of a single-storey warehouse and office building, into a two-storey self-storage facility totaling 129,625 square feet.
