Maple Reinders constructed Nationwide Self-Storage’s new facility with an eco-friendly Car Wash facility in Kamloops, British Columbia.
The 64,559 sf self-storage facility is three-storeys with 450 storage units, and room for future expansion of 800+ units with sky lockers. The foundation system comprises conventional strip and pad footings with the full level being the basement. The above-grade structure is structural steel with metal decks and concrete toppings. Interior finishes are limited to the office portion of the building and a set of bathrooms on each level. The rest of the building will be turning over relatively bare (concrete floors and exposed ceilings) to a subcontract the Owner is using to install the lockers. The building envelope is IMP and incorporates a precast panel system with a curtain wall.
The car wash foundations are concrete footings and SOG. Unlike the storage building, the precast panels for the car wash are structural.
