Lester B. Pearson International Airport’s major $4.4 billion redevelopment project encompassed new terminals, runways and infrastructure - expanding its capacity to 50 million travellers per year. As a result of this redevelopment project, Imperial Oil was required to relocate their avitat terminal facilities and maintenance hangar. Maple Reinders was awarded the contract to coordinate the relocation with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, schedule the construction activities, and design and build the new avitat and hangar facilities. The new 40,000 sf terminal incorporates efficient arrival and departure processes and excellent air-side visibility from the comfortable, spacious lounge. The terminal also houses corporate offices for Esso’s aviation group. Aircraft maintenance and servicing operations are facilitated on site in the adjacent 112,000 sf hangar.
